open source 3D world

Google has bought SketchUp and launched the great challenge of making Google Earth alive!

Through an open source development process...the 3D solid buildings of their spatial software are gonna get their real appearance!

Everyone can download SketchUp form their website and try to build detailed model of anything on the Earth..and through a simple series of operations, place the model in Google Earth, leaving it to the community!

They have set up a 3D Warehouse where all the models are stored and shared...and after 10 minutes i was surfing the site the number of models had duplicated..and i got the very first italian one! yippi!

piazza della liberta' in florence!
